Resumo: Oral implant restoration has profoundly changed the traditional restoration method, and is currently considered to be the most effective method to restore patients’ chewing and aesthetic functions. Diseases around the implant are divided into two categories: implant mucositis and peri-implant inflammation. Clinically, mucositis is diagnosed by the inflammation of the soft tissue around the implant. It has no bone loss, and may be accompanied by redness, bleeding, and sometimes suppuration.
